Mirastar prelets 650,000 sq ft of big box warehouses in Cheshire

Phase One and Two of the developer’s Widnes scheme make up 92% of the overall project

Developer Mirastar has prelet more than 650,000 sq ft of logistics space at Gorsey Point in Cheshire to two occupiers.

Supply Chain Coordination, trading as the NHS’s Supply Chain, is taking the 393,000 sq ft Widnes 400, the largest speculative development in the North West to complete since 2020.

The 257,500 sq ft Widnes 258 has been prelet to third-party logistics provider Kammac. The facility is set to complete in November.

The two big box warehouses make up 92% of the overall project. Both have links to the regional motorway network as well as the rail freight terminal at Widnes, Garston Docks, the port of Liverpool and Liverpool John Lennon airport. The site also benefits from its proximity to the access point to the new Mersey Crossing, connecting Runcorn and Widnes.

The third unit at the development, Widnes 54, is also scheduled for completion in November.

Robert Brophy, senior asset manager at Mirastar said: “We identified a lack of supply in the North West region and secured Gorsey Point off market to provide much-needed space. The success of preletting Phase 1 Widnes 400 has been continued at Widnes 258 Phase 2 with the prelet to Kammac 6 months ahead of practical completion.

“We continue with our business strategy of funding speculative developments across the UK, providing much-needed supply to facilitate the growth of local and national businesses with new grade A accommodation both in the North West and across the country.”

Savills and B8 Real Estate represented Mirastar. Cushman & Wakefield advised Supply Chain Coordination.
